BIOGRAPHY
Born in Nova Scotia, Tracey's musical attributes came quite honestly. Her Grandmother, Myra, was an acclaimed vocalist, singing lead bass with the famous "Sweet Adelines". Her mother was very musical as well, participating faithfully in the church choir.
Since Tracey was a little girl, she remembers her love of singing.  She performed throughout her childhood and teenage years and excelled at vocal competitions from Ontario to Saskatchewan.
In Grade three, Tracey was singled out in a reputable vocal competition, to be awarded first place in not one, but in all the classes she was entered in. In years to come, this was a reoccurring event, with one exception. After awarding Tracey her accolades, the adjudicators were quick to take her parents aside and strongly encouraged them to pursue her musical career.
Tracey continued winning vocal contests in Saskatchewan and was frequently called upon to perform at many prestigious events including SJHL games, weddings, award banquets and other events.
Medicine Hat, Alberta very quickly became aware of Tracey's singing abilities when she took up residence there in 1995. Winning the New Country 1270 CHAT vocal competition was the first stop on her popularity train in Southern Alberta. Tracey was such a hit, that the radio station gave her the opportunity to perform live on-air for their half-hour Rodeo Road Show.  Soon, she was asked to sing at Medicine Hat's Summer Festival and on TV 6 & 3's annual Christmas special.
In 1999, Tracey entered a nation-wide Country Music talent competition. Her luminous personality and radiant vocal selections quickly won the judges over. The Calgary Sun and other print media were quick to do an article about Medicine Hat's "next Terri Clark" and CMT interviewed and aired Tracey's performance. Her winnings included a Nashville CD recording, which was released last March 2001.
Her CD features a variety of tracks ranging from the traditional country sound of "If Love Is A Weakness" to the fun, jazzy feel of "Pajama Afternoon". If there's one song that personalizes the album for Tracey, it's the Celtic sounding "My Mother's Faith".
"It's my whole life story right up to the day my mother passed away last year. Singing is a reflection of my mom's voice and the morals that she has instilled in me"
Time and time again,  Tracey's audiences have warmed to her personality and  powerful vocals. Her popularity and fan base increases with each performance. This the reason that radio stations, promoters and the country music world in general are anxiously awaiting the next release from Tracey James..
